Ironing


See an iron label without any dots on your label? This is a sign that you can iron the clothes at any temperature. In case the label has just one dot, it means the clothing is made of delicate material and can be ironed at a specific temperature.
Similarly, if there are two dots the clothing is made of synthetic fiber. Three dots are an indication that clothing is made of linen and cotton. In both cases, you can iron the clothes but need to be careful about temperature settings.
If the label has an iron symbol which is crossed out, you should avoid ironing the clothes altogether.

Hand Washing

If there’s a tub on the care label, it’s a sign that the clothes can be washed by hand. You can also wash these clothes in a washing machine at 40 degrees.
Hand washing is usually a preferred option when you are washing clothes made of silk and cashmere. This prevents clothes from shrinking.
If there is a twisted sign on the label, it’s a sign that you can wring the clothing item. A crossed out twisted label on the other hand, means the opposite.

Drying

In case the label has a square with a circle, it’s a sign that the clothing can be tumble dried. Similarly, circles with dots indicate the temperature at which the clothes can be heated. If the symbol is crossed out, then you are not supposed to tumble dry the clothes.

Dry clean

A circle on the label shows that you can dry clean the item. Similarly, if the circle has an alphabet inside it, it means that you should dry clean it with a specific chemical. The bars under the circle indicate the level of precaution that cleaners need to take.
Again, if the symbol is crossed out, you must avoid dry cleaning the item.
